Admissions

There are two steps to the admissions process at St. Johannes College. We trust the following information will assist every prospective family and student in understanding our admissions procedures including all the necessary documentation required to process an application for admission.

Step 1: Application Fee & Documents

All applicants must submit a completed Application for Admission Form.

On submission of an application form, there will be a non-refundable HK $30 application fee.

Together with the completed Application for Admission Form, all applicants must provide:

A copy of the applicant's Hong Kong Identity Card or Birth Certificate

A copy of vaccination record

One passport size photograph taken within the last 12 months.

Copies of school records from the previous two years.

Three stamped and self-addressed envelopes

A check (made payable to St. Johannes College) or cash for the HK $30 non-refundable application fee.

To ensure that SJC is capable of meeting every student's academic and personal needs, all applications must include copies of school report cards from the previous two academic years. All applicants must disclose any additional documentation or reports relating to the applicant's ability to successfully learn in a regular academic school environment.

++ Successful admission to SJC will depend on the applicant's relevant documents provided for academic abilities and appropriate achievement of expected learning results.

Step 2: Assessment

All applicants seeking admission to SJC Pre-Nursery are required to attend an interview in person.

All applicants seeking admission to SJC from Kindergarten through Primary 6 are required to take an assessment in various subjects.

The language of instruction and communication at SJC is English and Chinese. Students seeking admission to SJC are expected to be proficient users of English proficiency in both academic and communicative language for the application of any prospective student to be considered.

The decision to accept or deny applicant will only be made once all two steps in the admissions process are complete. Based on the applicant's previous school records and the performance on the SJC assessment or interview, the decision to offer a place at SJC to the applicant will be made by the principal.

Upon offering the applicant a place at the school, an official letter confirming this acceptance will be signed by the principal and given to the family. If the family wishes to enroll their child in SJC, they must do so within 10 days and provide payment of the subsequent school fees in order to guarantee enrollment. Once any fees are paid, there is no refund at all.
