St. Johannes College (SJC), established in 1962 by the (late) Dr. Thomas T. S. Liang, SJC is committed to provide all-round quality education with a happy, caring and stimulating Catholic environment for students from kindergarten to primary levels. The aim of the school is to assist students to realize their fullest potentials in the areas of cognitive, physical, affective, social, aesthetic and cultural development and competencies to cope with the challenges in life and prepare them for further education and future contribution to the community.

Central to our belief is “All students are individuals who are uniquely gifted by God”. Parents, students and teachers work together towards the greatest accomplishment of the common goals, which enable students to develop the positive attitudes and values through enjoyable and successful learning experiences across the integrated curriculum.

All students are required to stay at school for lunch. They are encouraged to bring their own healthy lunch boxes to school or can order lunch boxes from the school lunch supplier that is a licensed food factory approved by the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department.

Parental participation and interaction with teachers on a regular basis is crucial to teachers’ performance and effectiveness in promoting students’ learning. Parents are encouraged to involve in students’ works, progress and performance in school through their participation in various activities and experiences. Games Day, Parents and Students Interactive Outdoor Activities, Sports Day, the Respect the Elderly Day, Annual Dinner, Lunar New Year Party and Graduation Dinner are scheduled throughout the school year to enhance the collaboration between school and home. Parents’ Conference is one of the most importance communication networks between parents and teachers. Three Parents’ Meetings with new parents and two regular meetings for existing parents are held every year.
